Those of you who received our recent news letter will have read that Russell Blanchard is now trained in the use of the Inman Aligner, which is a relatively new and very exciting development in orthodontics. The aligner is used to straight moderate levels of crowding in the upper and lower front 4-6 teeth. It is a removable appliance that needs to be worn for at least 18 hours per day. A usual treatment time of 12-16 weeks is much lower than conventional fixed orthodontics and the result is permanently retained using a very well fitted minimal arch wire attached to the backs of the teeth. It can be combined with whitening to give a really quick and totally non-invasive “smile makeover” with no drilling or even any local anaesthetic. It can also be used prior to veneer work to dramatically reduce the amount of adjustment needed to the teeth during the veneer preparation stage.
But much more important than any of this is the fact that it is mentioned in this months GQ grooming section because now we know it is really cool!
