At StoneRock we are proud of our investment in modern technology and have advanced all of our clinical skills to ensure that you can experience the many benefits that state of the art equipment can bring.
To give you an idea of how this investment can improve your dental care today here is a list of a few of the items available to you.
Air Abrasion systems – the silent revolution: Less than 10% of practices in the UK offer this amazing treatment yet in certain conditions it can do away with the need for any drills or injections. Using helium enhanced micro-abrasion technology tooth decay can be removed with out any noise, vibration or patient discomfort. Because very little extra tooth tissue is removed the filling size can be kept to an absolute minimum reducing the risk of later problems.
The Wand – A magical way of giving local anaesthetic. This neat little device delivers the local anaesthetic to just the spot where we want it with much less of the usual discomfort. This means better numbing with less stinging, hence its name!
Digital radiography – A direct benefit: Digital x-rays use an electronic sensor in the mouth rather than the conventional film, which allows us to reduce the dose of radiation you receive by up to 80%. Put simply we can take five x-rays for the same dose as one old one. As the sensor utilises digital technology the image appears on the screen instantly so there is no more waiting around for x-ray results.
Surgical microscopes – Giving a better view: With so many advances in modern dentistry there are new techniques evolving all the time. Many of these techniques require dentists to get a closer and better view of the teeth they are treating. If we get a better view then you get a better result. Microscopes allow us to see minute fractures in teeth that can cause a lot of discomfort and would simply be missed by someone working without one.
Digital photography – Clinical photographs of not just your whole smile but inside your mouth as well can help us discuss every aspect of your dental treatment with you and plan well in advance any improvements you may wish to make.
Computer records – All of the information that we gather at every appointment is stored on computer software specially designed to allow us to share it with you in a clear and interactive manner. This means that at any stage we can review with you any of the work that we have carried out and measure the improvements that together we have achieved.
Air Flow– A great way to remove stubburn stain from hard to get to parts of the smile. With AirFlow our hygienists can almost “jetwash” your smile so that you are left with little or no visible stain and a great feeling of clean teeth without getting a mouthful of paste. Ask for it by name when you come for your next visit.
Of course no piece of equipment, however fancy, can ever take the place of an experienced pair of hands. Here at StoneRock we know that for any bit of technology to be really valuable it must enhance the patient experience and improve the quality of the completed treatment. The gadgets can’t just look fancy, they have to work for a living!
