These two cases show just how well Fibre Reinforced Composites can help us to treat potentially complex cases in quick, cost effective and minimally invasive way.
Both cases were completed by Russell Blanchard and both were completed in one visit with no need for any extensive drilling, impressions or local anaesthetic. These techniques are possible because we use very strong glass fibre elements to reinforce the white fillings that we use every day.
In the first case, there is a missing lower front tooth and very worn teeth on either side. The patient did not want and denture and could not commit to the time needed for an implant retained crown. A fibre reinforced bridge provided an excellent alternative.
In this second case the patient had a dark front tooth that was also very mobile. A fibre reinforced splint was used to firmly attach the tooth to the adjacent one so that it is no longer loose. The splint was then covered in direct white fillings to hide the dark colour and close the gap, which the patient was keen to do.
