In this case I used simple direct splinting and bonding techniques to correct some issues the patient had with their teeth. They chief complaint was that the teeth had drifted leaving gaps and the edges were worn and uneven. We could have used orthodontics to bring the teeth back in line but this would have added to the cost and time of the treatment considerably.
With this approach the correction could take place in one sitting of approximately an hour and the splint connecting the teeth will prevent further drifting. As the teeth are now firm the patient can clean around them better so encouraging better gum health. (The gum recession and drifting were both caused by gum disease which the patient is now making great efforts to control).
We could have closed the gaps further down the roots and used gum shades of composite filling materials to reduce the gaps further but as they were not on show in her smile the patient decided to leave them alone.
