Readers of this site will know that I am a great champion of techniques that involve the absolute minimum of tooth tissue reduction when we are restoring smiles. This is why I am a great fan of “Bleach and Bond” as it combines whitening and direct filling techniques that can offer huge improvements to a smile with almost no removal of sound tissue. The results can be exceptional and whilst will not last as long as porcelain veneers they do give quick, affordable changes that can last for many years. If the patient decides later on that they want the extra aesthetic advantages that porcelain can give then we can convert to this with great ease.
The first case represents a direct build up to very worn teeth. The second case shows how replacing old worn out fillings can enhance and rejuvinate a smile, all in one visit. Both cases took under 3 weeks to complete, including all necessary whitening and follow up polishing visit. The first case required no drilling or anaesthetic, the second one a small amount of both but only for sites where old fillings needed to come out.
