I was having one of those days today. By 11.30 I wanted to pack it in and head home, possibly for good. But at 12.30 I saw that my friend and business mentor Shakir was in for a review, along with his wonderful wife Sandra. I was able to have a quick lunch with them and came away 30 minutes later ready for anything, and am still going strong at almost 11.30 pm. A few kind, reassuring words from some one who has been through it all before and who trusts your abilities and cares how you are feeling can lift you from the deepest of pits.
If anyone is planning a business venture or is taking one new development, my strongest recommendation is that you seek out some one in your life to mentor you through the process. Running a business can be one of the loneliest jobs there is, but as I was reminded at lunch it can be the most rewarding one there is as well. Thank you Shakir.
